Surviving Long-Haul Flights
1. Comfort is key
When travelling for such a long period of time the last thing you want to do is spend it uncomfortable and miserable. Dress in comfortable clothing with a few layers so you can adjust your temperature as you fly.
2. Prepare to sleep
Sleeping on a plane does not come naturally to everyone. Try and make the best of the situation and bring items that will help you sleep. A lightweight blanket and travel pillow are good starting points. It’s always a good idea to pack a sleep mask and earplugs to block out the noise around you while you sleep.
Don’t forget to bring along a toothbrush and toothpaste to make you feel a bit more refreshed when you wake.
3. Keep cabin luggage to a minimum
While it may be tempting to bring with you as much as possible there’s nothing more stressful than lugging around a great big bag. Restrict yourself to the essentials and not only will this make it easier for you but there’s less of a chance you will misplace any of your possessions during your journey.
4. Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water regularly and slowly throughout the flight. Although caffeine and alcohol may be tempting it’s best to keep these drinks to a minimum.
5. Keep yourself entertained
There’s always a chance that you may be stuck with terrible inflight movies. Avoid a boring few hours by packing books and updating your playlists to pass the time. If you’re relying on electronic devices for entertainment, make sure they’re charged up prior to your flight and bring a battery power pack just in case power outlets are not available on the plane.
6. Prepare for your arrival
Avoid the extra stress by keeping on top of everything you need to do when you land. Whether this be organising travel from the airport or arranging your accommodation arrival it takes a weight off your mind knowing it’s already sorted.

However, if your travel includes a long-haul flight it’s always a good idea to let us know at the time of booking so we can be prepared for any changes to your arrival times, that way you can fly without worrying about any complications when you land.
