Serviced Apartments v Airbnb
Airbnb has been making waves within the tourism industry for quite some time now.
However, with recent backlash and legislation changes coming into practice in order to restrict the distribution of Airbnb apartments is it really the best option.
We strongly believe that guests safety and satisfaction is priority and have faith in the fact that our serviced apartments can guarantee this.
So why exactly are serviced apartments the better option?
A safe pair of hands
We pride ourselves on the fact that our serviced apartments meet industry acknowledged standards and provide our guests with a consistent level of service. We can safely say that this is the case thanks to our accreditation award presented to us by the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP). Our ASAP accreditation means that our apartments meet a strict criterion of facilities, cleanliness and service.
In contrast, Airbnb has no industry acknowledged way of guaranteeing quality. This means that it relies solely on the host to honestly describe and present the accommodation.
Similar to how Airbnb has no way of guaranteeing quality, as Airbnb does not meet the host or view the property there’s no way of knowing that the accommodation is always genuine. While Airbnb reviews mean that the majority of the time hosts are legitimate, there is always a chance that you may be caught out. Booking with trusted serviced apartment providers means that you don’t have to take a risk.
In addition, we take the security of our guests very seriously. Our apartments all require a security fob in order to gain entry to the building and some are situated within gated developments.
If you have any questions and queries concerning your Airbnb booking it can be difficult to know who you need to speak to and getting hold of them is another matter entirely.
In contrast, serviced apartment providers are made up of small and knowledgeable teams. If you have any questions about your booking or development it is a lot easier to speak to someone who will know the answer.
Airbnb is attempting to attract more corporate business. However, there’s no guarantee that the accommodation is suited for a corporate stay. While the apartment may be in a prime location there could be noisy and disruptive surroundings, not what you need when travelling away for business.
Here at A Space in the City we have years of experience providing serviced apartments to corporate and creative industry workers. We are
There’s nothing worse than finding out that you have some hidden costs to pay during or after your stay. When booking an Airbnb property guests are charged a 12% fee so the price initially advertised is not usually the price you pay in the end.
With serviced apartments there are no surprise costs. Cleaning services are included within the price and if you wish to request any additional extras (i.e. late check outs, breakfast hampers etc.) the prices are clearly stated on our website.
